SCHOLARSHIP NOMINATIONS

To continue what we started last year, NLS will be awarding at least one $500 scholarship to a current seminarian. We plan to do this at the 2026 Annual Gathering.

For the second annual scholarship(s), we are soliciting recommendations for seminarians you know. The recipients will be chosen by the NLS Board. Please click the button below to be taken to the form.

We are always looking for ways to increase our reach. In order to sustain the scholarships moving forward, we need donations. If you feel called to donate, please contact treasurer, Jerry Gray at treasurer@viadecristo.org for information.

CIRCLE OF SERVANTS NOMINATIONS

As you may remember, we started a new tradition at last year’s Annual Gathering, A service recognition for members who have made a distinctive contribution to the Via de Cristo Ministry. The intent was to choose one servant leader from each region for recognition at last year’s annual gathering. 

The purpose of our Servant recognition is to lift up servants who have been instrumental to the success of each Secretariat. The NLS board would like to recognize someone who stays somewhat in the background, but still is essential to our ministry. The nominations will be made by individual secretariats via the google form linked below. The nominations will be evaluated by the NLS Board and an appointed committee of Regional Coordinators.

We recognize that there are many people who work hard behind the scenes and deserve recognition but it’s impossible to acknowledge everyone. This is an attempt to highlight those behind the scenes people whose contributions move the ministry of Via de Cristo forward. 

What we are looking for are folks who have taken a leadership role that has fostered growth, renewal, inspiration, energy and/or vitality to the specific secretariat or to the Via de Cristo ministry at large. 

Some feedback from around the membership has indicated that some of the people we might want to nominate as a special Servant will be uncomfortable with getting any recognition. We suggest you consider this when you make your nomination. We don’t want to put anyone in an uncomfortable position. 

The Servants selected from each region will be announced and recognized at the 2026 NLSAG. If a selected Servant does not attend the NLSAG, we will ask that they be available via Zoom to be recognized at the designated time during the NLSAG.
